Q: Can I bring my pets’ personal bedding?

A: For sanitary purposes we ask that you only bring a towel or T-shirt that can be easily put in standard washing machine.

 

Q: Is someone there to take care of the pets in the evenings or weekends and on holidays when the office is closed?

A. We have staff tending to your pet 365 days of the year. I addition the owners live on the premises.

 

Q: Can I bring toys and treats for my pet?

A: Yes, we encourage you to bring only 2 toys. Please use some discretion in selecting toys that your pet will not chew into small pieces and that can be easily washed. You may bring treats and chews such as rawhide bones. We do not consider treats as toys.

 

Q: Do I need to bring my pets’ own food?

A: No, Camp Ravenwood Kennels provides everything necessary to care for your pet. If your pet is on a special diet that you would like to keep them on you may bring your own food. We supply food and water bowls.

 

Q: Is the kennel area heated and air conditioned?

A: Yes, we have forced air heating systems for the winter and central air conditioning for the summer your pet will stay very comfortable no matter what the outside temperature or weather in like. In the cold winter months we also have radiant heated floor to help keep your dog warm. The radiant heat is a very big help for a dog with arthritis, hip dysphasia and geriatric dogs.

 

Q: Will my pet come home with fleas?

A: No, we do not send pets home with fleas. We treat the entire facility with a disinfectant which also repels flea and other types of insects.

 

Q: My dog may not go potty in the run area. Will this be a problem?

A: We check every run before cleaning them several times each day. We make a note of any dog that is not going potty in the run. After a period of time if we see no evidence of urine of fecal, we begin rotating your pet outside to the play area in order for your pet to go potty.

 

Q: I have two or more dogs; can they share the same kennels?

A: Yes we have extra large kennels and run areas for more than on dog. As long as your dogs get along together, they may share the same kennels. Our Cattery’s are large enough for up to three cats in each if you would like to board your cats together.

 

Q: What if there is an emergency medical problem?

A: We have two veterinarian hospitals in very close proximity to our facility, along with an emergency facility open 24 hours a day 365 day a year. We treat every guest as we would our own pets and will assure them the best attention available.

 

Q: How do I select a good kennel for my pet?

A: Before boarding your pet, we strongly encourage pet owners to take the time to visit the facility. Don’t just visit the office area: insist on seeing the actual kennel area where the pets are boarded. Are the kennels and surrounding areas clean? Talk to the owners and staff of the kennel. Do they appear to be knowledgeable?

 

Q: What must I bring with me when checking in my pet?

A: (1) the most important item would be proof of current vaccinations from your vet. We do not accept check off type health booklets if we can not confirm that you pet is current on all vaccinations DHPP-Rabies-Bordetella, we will not allow your pet to enter our boarding facilities.

 

(2) The next important item would be your itinerary with phone numbers. We want to reach you should we have a question concerning the care of your pet. We don’t care where in the world you’re going! If you will be near a phone, we want the number! A hotel phone number, cell phone or page number is fine. As a last resort we will take the number of a family member or friend, but our preference is to be able to reach you directly.

 

(3) Leash and collar for dogs and a carrier for cats or small dogs. Your dog must be on a leash and under your control at all times. Other optional items include: treats, toys, chews. Etc Please do not bring food and water bowls.
